Smoking, can it harm my skin

To take care of your skin and respect its nature, first, make sure you choose products that are suitable for your skin type. The skin is nourished from within. The food we eat is broken down into nutrients and waste. Nutrients are consumed by the bloodstream which carries them throughout the body to the various organs, the largest of which is the skin. Oxygen is also transported and delivered in the same way. Cells absorb oxygen, which is essential for the health of organs and the process of life itself. This whole process happens automatically when we breathe........Except

  • When we inhale the smoke from a cigarette, the carbon monoxide from the smoke is absorbed by hemoglobin in the blood. Carbon monoxide is a highly toxic colorless and odorless gas that is also found in smoke from pots and car exhausts.

  • Blood can absorb carbon monoxide 100 times faster than oxygen, so much of the oxygen is displaced by carbon monoxide. Organs, including the skin, are starved of life by giving off oxygen and are slowly poisoned by carbon monoxide. But this is not the end. Cigarette smoke also contains a deadly cocktail of products

  • following chemicals. Ammonia, hydrocyanic acid, butane, nicotine, carbolic acid, collidine, formaldehyde, lutidine, parvoline, prussic acid, pyridine, arsenic, and cadmium. This list is by no means exhaustive. The effect on the skin of all this is catastrophic. The liver will go into overdrive trying to expel these chemicals from the body and will not be able to perform its normal functions properly. The skin loses its healthy glow and takes on a yellowish-gray hue. The more cigarettes you smoke, the worse your skin will get.

Better understand your skin

To take good care of your skin, you must first know how it works and what it needs. All skin types can be affected by the skin (dry skin, oily skin, or combination skin) as soon as the skin barrier is weakened.

The hydrolipidic film, which is unbalanced, does not sufficiently protect the skin, which is damaged under the effects of daily aggressions: pollution, the climate (heat, UV rays, temperature differences, etc.), excessively calcareous tap water, irritating or overly aggressive cosmetics, and even stress!

Gentle cleansing in the morningWith sensitive skin, you have to bet on softness. In the morning, you can settle for a gentle lotion or floral water such as rose or chamomile water, ideal for delicate mature skin. They gently cleanse the skin, and eliminate toxins released during the night as well as sebum, without unbalancing the skin barrier.
Smoking also causes premature aging in two ways. It uses vitamin C in the body, about 35 mg for each cigarette. Vitamin C is an unstable vitamin and cannot be made by the body. One of its functions is the preservation of the skin's collagen, the substance that gives skin its plump, youthful component. The collagen sinks, causing premature wrinkles around the eyes and mouth.

The physical act of smoking causes us to squint, exaggerating the wrinkles around the eyes. Every time we purse our lips, we also deepen the wrinkles around our mouth. Have fun! Stop poisoning yourself. Stop smoking now. Save the money you spend on those toxic weeds and go out and treat yourself to a facial or a new skin cream instead. Your skin will thank you!
