This Saturday, October 1, a summer breeze is blowing over the Palais de Tokyo. Guests flock to Paris' modern art center to await the Elie Saab Spring-Summer 2023 fashion show. Among them, are Eva Longoria, Monica Bellucci, Sarah Rafferty, and Jasmine Tookes, who make up the front row of the show. The latter kicks off in a crochet silhouette with floral details, including a bra and elongated slit skirt. Tied around the model's neck, a well-known thick white ribbon shows off a wisteria twig. From then on, the piece is transported to a flowery lawn in the heart of the summer season.

witnesses of the romantic inspirations of the Lebanese designer. The little story: "I was born with this passion to create and make dresses, says Elie Saab, and I have always been surrounded by beautiful ladies... The desire to dress them and make them elegant and chic was a constant inspiration. . »

Its fashion DNA: lace, silk muslin, embroidery, dresses – long and short – marked at the waist.

Her key moments: were the creation of the couture workshop in 1982, the arrival of the brand in Paris in 2000, Halle Berry in an Elie Saab dress at the Oscars ceremony, and the inauguration of the couture house in Beirut in 2005.


From the age of 9, Elie Saab cut out patterns and drew sketches for his sisters. The Lebanese designer, born in Beirut in 1964, founded his sewing workshop there at the age of 18. He joined the Camera Nazionale de la Moda, in Italy, in 1997, and paraded in Rome for three years, before being invited, in 2000, by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture to parade in the French capital.

In 1998, Elie Saab launched his ready-to-wear line during Milan fashion week. His fall/winter 1998-1999 collection was very well received.
