Calendar of fashion events in Paris at the start of 2023



 



Fashion weeks, textile fairs, showrooms... Here are the dates and places of the fashion events that will take place in Paris in the first quarter of 2023. Not to be missed, whether you are a fashion designer, fashion designer, designer, or buyer in the sector.


It's men's fashion that traditionally gets the ball rolling at fashion shows. French and international designers will present their fall-winter 2023/24 collection in mid-January. The indicative calendar of the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion announces 48 shows (and 33 presentations), for a total of 81 registered houses. The most anticipated parade is that of Saint Laurent (January 17 at the start of the evening) which thus marks its big comeback because Anthony Vaccarello, artistic director of the brand, did not parade with the man from the capital. Fashionable since 2016. Louis Vuitton and AMI (January 19), Dior and Kenzo (January 20) and Maison Margiela (January 22) will follow, concluding this week devoted to men's fashion.


Haute Couture Week


The following week, the houses will present their haute couture creations for the fall-winter 2023/24 season. According to the provisional calendar transmitted by the Fédération de la haute couture et de la mode, the organization which coordinates the events will present around thirty houses and highlights marked by exceptional know-how. This fashion week dedicated to haute couture will be inaugurated by the Italian brand Schiaparelli (January 23), then Christian Dior in the early afternoon of the same day. Next will be Chanel and Alexis Mabille (January 24), and Jean Paul Gaultier (January 25) who will unveil the collection signed by Heider Ackermann (the designer is the fourth designer invited to the couture workshop of the Parisian Maison). Hong Kong-born, London-based designer Robert Won completes this couture week.


Women's Fashion Week


Last step of the Fashion Weeks trilogy: women's fashion. The posters will unveil the Fall-Winter 2023/24 women's ready-to-wear collection at the end of February and the beginning of March. More information on participating households and the screening schedule will be revealed soon.

who's next


Faithful to its diverse and varied offer, the Who's Next fashion show created in 1994 and dedicated to ready-to-wear, shoes, and accessories is associated with Impact, for responsible fashion, Bijorhca, for jewelry and, new this year, at the Salon international de la lingerie and at Interfilière Paris (these two universes will be in hall 4). This show, which attracts independent retailers and major brands, will host around 1,500 brands from nearly a hundred nationalities at the end of January. For this 2023 edition, WSN has reached an agreement with the German trade fair organizer Messe Frankfurt for the arrival of Neonyt, a pioneer focused on an environmentally friendly trade fair since its creation in 2011 in Berlin.

Tranoï (men's fashion)


The Tranoï, known for parading creatives and creators who offer an original stylistic show, will welcome 70 models of around fifteen nationalities for its men's edition in mid-January. This season, the show is changing location (after the Palais de Tokyo) and settling in the 11th arrondissement, in a former Reno garage built in the 1960s. Brands like Gunther focused on the contemporary luxury of Naomi Gunther, the brand of streetwear MRKNTN by Montreal designer Marcantoin, as well as brands listed on the official calendar will present their collections and parade on the second floor of the building.

Welcome release


After a break due to the health crisis, the English showroom dedicated to high-end and luxury men's fashion, founded by Marc Batista and Kestin Herr, returned to Paris last June. During the January 2023 session, Welcome Edition will set up its shelves in the 11th arrondissement of the capital during Men's Fashion Week and will highlight men's ready-to-wear brands such as Barbour, a regular at the show, Noyoco, Sandqvist, and newcomers such as Japanese. Man Woman

Evolution of Texworld


This textile fair, run by Messe Frankfurt since 2002, focuses on the supply of textiles for clothing and accessories. 450 exhibitors from around fifteen countries are expected at Le Bourget in early February, including nearly 250 Chinese companies and Indian embroiderers and weavers, marking the return of Asian professionals to the show after two years of the pandemic. The next Parisian edition of Texworld Evolution, in July 2023, will see a break: the show leaves Le Bourget to be held for the first time at Porte de Versailles.

Premiere Vision Paris


Premiere Vision, the international meeting place for textile professionals, was launched in 1973. The next edition in February will bring together more than 1,200 exhibitors from 44 countries working in different sourcing universes, from fibers to upholstery fabrics, leathers, creations textiles, clothing, and accessories. The Paris show – a member of the Premiere Vision ecosystem which exports to Shenzhen and New York – has developed a new mobile app and QR code system that visitors can consult to source raw materials from exhibitor labels.

Tranoy (women's fashion)


The women's edition of Tranoï will return to its headquarters at the Palais Brongniart next March, where it will be held alongside Women's Fashion Week. The artistic direction of the last edition, last September, was imagined by Christelle Koché, founder of the Koché label. More than 200 emerging designers of contemporary style and international brands are expected, such as the South Korean house Nika and Moonsword, the Japanese Shinyasuke and Itoi, the cashmere specialists, the Belgian Atelier Basile or the French studio passionate about cycling Appotekers. Presentation of their ready-to-wear and accessories collection for the autumn-winter 2023/24 season.

This event dedicated to fashion accessories takes place every year in March during Women's Fashion Week in Paris (then in October). La Première Classe, organized by the Who's Next teams, has returned to its large white tents set up in the heart of the capital, in the Tuileries garden. There are brands selected for their original offers such as designer jewelry, shoes, textile accessories, and leather goods. Among the 450 exhibitors are the tricolor brand Majestic Filatures, the Italian Lemaré, and even Bera Design, a brand of bags based in Istanbul.

Made in France Première Vision


Motivated by the renewed interest in local products, the Made in France show organized by Première Vision brings together a wide range of standard bearers of French production. On the agenda for the March issue: Weavers and tanners supplying raw materials, molding companies (thread, warp, and weft, etc.), accessory brands, and embroiderers specializing in embroidery, flocking, or printing. As in previous seasons, the show focuses on Industry 4.0 issues and highlights creative technology companies such as startups focused on innovative and smart textiles.
